Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai was started in the year 1887. The institute was given its present title in 1997, formerly known as Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute.

The objective of the college is to make learning auspicious for the learner so that they can become competent for making next generation products for the mankind.

The institute is well known for its diploma, degree and post graduate level programs in engineering & technology, functioning as an autonomous institute. It is struggling for greater visibility by focusing on research, innovations and technology incubation.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA):

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a three-year (Six Semester) program after the graduation. This course has been designed to cope with the ever-increasing demand for computer personnel in almost all occupations, especially in the IT sector.

MCA course is the most popular choice of Indian students who are looking for a bright career in the IT sector. This course can be joined after completion of BCA course. Many students also join that course because BCA does not offer as many career options as MCA course offers. Moreover, it gives only a fundamental knowledge of computer languages, which is not sufficient for getting a wonderful job in IT sector. Besides this, it does not give optimized environment which MCA offers. Therefore, MCA course has its own significance.

MCA Department:

The MCA Department was established in October 1984 to fulfill the growing needs of computer professionals in the field of Information Technology.

MCA at VJTI was the first computer course under University of Mumbai, Maharashtra in collaboration with Department of Electronics. The Department attracts all the meritorious students of MCA entrance examination conducted across the state. The main emphasis of this program is to impart knowledge and training in computer science, software technology and management. The courses of MCA department are designed to train and educate students as per the requirements of the software industry & research organizations.

Eligibility:

Candidates eligible for this course must have completed its BCA from any recognized university.

Admission Criteria:

The candidate should have passed BCA or Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. Selection will be based on as per the university norms.
