Course Description:

MCA course is an interdisciplinary 3-year PG course. The course is designed to develop high quality IT professionals to meet the ever changing industry challenges and requirements.

MCA is a Post Graduation program having six semesters. The syllabus of first semester is framed with the subjects that provide a base for the rest of the semesters in an effective way to impart skills and knowledge about the subjects. In second and third semesters, core Computer Science subjects are introduced with programming practical labs.

MCA course involves the study of system management and development system engineering application software internet management information systems software development troubleshooting hardware technology networking etc.

Eligibility Criteria:

Admission to MCA course shall be open to candidates who have passed the Bachelor’s Degree examinations with not less than 50% of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations (45% for SC/ST candidates belonging to Karnataka). The candidate shall have passed Bachelor degree with not less than 50% of marks in Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science / Computer Programming / Computer Applications / Business Mathematics/ Business Statistics as one of the optional or electives at Degree Level. In the case of candidates belonging to SC / ST and Cat-I, 45% of marks in that subject shall be considered for Admission.

In addition, the candidate must have also taken at least one of the following entrance exams: PGCET, K-MAT, etc.

Admission Criteria:

Minimum qualification required is Bachelors Degree in any subject with 50% in aggregate(45% for SC/ST) with any one subject among Mathematics, Business Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science at 10+2 level or Graduation.
